Update on District 60 Phone Lines

We are writing today to provide an update on our District's ongoing phone line maintenance. Late last week we were able to get our schools’ main phone lines operational. This means that main office lines at buildings should be able to make and receive calls. Parents who have been using backup lines for most of our buildings may begin using main office lines. A list of those lines can be found below.

Changing Our COVID Notification Messaging

As we prepare to begin the new school year, we wanted to provide an update on how we will be handling COVID case general notices moving forward. We will no longer be sending general notification emails and texts regarding COVID cases in our buildings. Our District's contact tracers/building investigators will continue to monitor and report cases as required, and individuals identified as close contacts inside our buildings, will be notified separately.

In the spring we introduced our mitigation table, which outlines mitigation strategies and safety protocols in place through various levels of COVID spread. The table is a living document which our team reviews and updates periodically, based on feedback and guidance. The most notable change in this version of the table is that masks and face coverings are no longer required in our buildings when the CDC community level is at high. Instead, masks and face coverings will be recommended, unless an outbreak is identified in a building.

Back to School Resource Fair Saturday, July 30

Our annual school supply giveaway is this Saturday, July 30. Be sure to stop by Miguel Juarez Middle School between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. to receive a backpack full of school supplies, a free haircut, as well as enjoy free food, games and a raffle. Additionally, parents who have not yet registered their child for the 2022-2023 school year will have the chance to complete the registration process at the event.

The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) has updated Lake County’s community spread level from “medium” to “high”. With Lake County moving into high, some of our mitigations will again be adjusted, based upon our Mitigation Table. Under a “high” community level, masks or face coverings are required inside all District 60 buildings.
